Welcome to Caithness Horizons, a fascinating Museum that brings to life the history and culture of Caithness.
Caithness Horizons houses a permanent collection that tells the story of the county of Caithness from 416 million years ago to the present day including the Picts, the Vikings and the history of the Dounreay Nuclear Research Establishment.
There is always lots of exciting things happening at Caithness Horizons which we regularly document on here and on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Summer opening hours (1st April – 30th Sept) are as follows:
Monday to Saturday 10am-6pm
Sunday 11am – 4pm
Winter opening hours (1st October – 31st March) are as follows:
Monday to Friday 10am – 6pm
Saturday 10am – 5pm
Sunday 28th September will be our final Sunday opening of the season.
